Austin School District
It's a challenge, being an innercity school district whose students speak 57 different languages. But the Austin ISD sets a precedent for schools all over the multicultural spectrum, with an inclusive atmosphere that also turns out impressive educational results.
The average SAT scores for the AISD Class of 2002 exceeded the state average by more than 50 points and the national average by 29 points while AISD has larger percentages of all students taking the test. Advanced Placement participation (54.6%) is more than twice the state rate (26.3%) and far outdistances the rates for Dallas (38.3%) and Fort Worth (31.6%). (Source)
